Dutch government refuses to accept criticism of Pondaag & Pattipilohy

[Note that Mrs. Pattipilohy is not addressed in this letter]

Subject: Copy of the Ministers’ reply regarding the investigation “Independence, Decolonization, violence and war in Indonesia, 1945-1950”

The Hague, January 28, 2020

Dear Mr. Pondaag,

The Dutch Foreign Affairs Committee has received a copy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ reply to your letter regarding the investigation “Independence, Decolonization, Violence and War in Indonesia, 1945-1950“.

The committee’s position is that it only takes notice of receipt of the letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs. This means that the committee as such will not take any action. Yet, this does not change the fact that individual members can take initiatives themselves on the basis of the content of his letter.

Yours sincerely,

Clerk of the Dutch Foreign Affairs Committee,
T.J.E. van Toor
