On 19 October 2017 the (draft) open letter by Jeffry Pondaag and Francisca Pattipilohy was presented as part of a discussion evening organized by Histori Bersama. Also present at this evening were: Indonesian ambassador Gusti Agung Wesaka, Dutch government official Hanjo de Kuiper, NRC-journalist Frank Vermeulen (who never wrote a single word about the protest) and prof.
